The intention of the installation is to evoke curiosity and interaction leading to a different approach to exploring the atrium at Federation Square. Not only by viewing the architecture but creating your own vision of the space according to the direction or path you wish to see through. The design is a simple structure which has an intricate and highly reflective panelling on the inside. This allows the view of the space to become extremely chaotic and intense, causing the view to become completely immersed in this space. The more movement and interaction that is occurring the more demanding the internal experience will be. The sound installation that accompanies this piece creates a contrast to the atrium, the intense structural qualities of the space are softened through the soundscape, that transmits a more soothing and inviting resonance. Whist one is being drawn into this sound there is a visual excitement waiting for the viewer, amplifying their sense of sight. As day transforms into night, the space changes, exposing an illuminated structure sparkling in the reflection of the spaces artificial lights. |
